Platts discontinues FOB NWE AA, VAM price assessments

S&P Global Platts has discontinued its FOB NWE acetic acid, or AA, and vinyl acetate monomer, or VAM, spot price assessments, effective Nov. 19, 2020.

The decision to discontinue the assessments reflects a lack of liquidity in FOB spot deals.

Platts will continue to publish its FD NWE AA and VAM spot price assessments.

The discontinuation affects the following codes:

PHAQA00 AA FOB NWE $/mt

PHAQB03 AA Mavg FOB NWE $/mt

PHAQE00 VAM FOB NWE $/mt

PHAQF03 VAM Mavg FOB NWE $/mt

Platts European AA and VAM FOB assessments will no longer appear on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 172 and 244 and in the Platts price database.
