SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes assessment of WAF FOB STS Lome jet

S&P Global Platts proposes to launch a daily assessment of Jet A1 DEFSTAN fuel loading STS basis offshore Lome, Togo, with effect from January 2, 2020.

The proposal comes in response to growing activity in the delivered West African market for jet fuel, as the region sees increasing demand for refined products.

The proposed assessment would reflect the following key characteristics.

SPECIFICATION: The assessment reflects the value of commercial Jet A-1 specification as defined by the latest edition of UK Ministry of Defence's DEFSTAN 91-91.

BASIS: The West African jet assessment would be STS basis offshore Lome, Togo. Indications from other locations in West Africa may be taken into account and normalized back to offshore Lome.

SIZE: The West African grade jet assessment represents parcels of 5,000-10,000 mt. Other cargo sizes may also be considered for assessment purposes but normalized back to the reference cargo size.

LOADING PERIOD: The assessment will reflect material for STS loading offshore Lome, three to 10 days forward from the date of publication.

S&P Global Platts welcomes all feedback and questions to europe_products, and copy pricegroup by December 3, 2019.
