SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches delivered monthly averages of LNG assessments

Effective November 16, Platts has launched new monthly averages and daily cumulative monthly averages for its key price assessments to complement its global LNG pricing coverage. New monthly average codes and daily cumulative monthly average codes will be listed for the following DES assessments: JKM, JKM yen conversion, West India, North West Europe and South West Europe; and the following FOB assessments: East Atlantic Marker, Gulf Coast marker. Platts currently publishes the monthly average of the daily assessments during the calendar month (assessments completed 1-31 January are averaged to arrive at the January monthly average) whereas new averages will reflect the period of loading or delivery. For example, for DES assessments the new monthly averages for August will reflect an average of assessments for cargoes to be delivered in the month of August (assessed 16 June-15 July); For FOB assessments the new monthly averages for August will reflect an average of assessments for cargoes to be loaded in the month of August (assessed 1-31 July). The new averages will allow for easier computation of averages for settlement of physical and financial contracts and for customers who use Platts LNG products to mark-to-market their positions. The monthly average codes and daily cumulative monthly average codes will be published on page NG1030 of Platts Natural Gas Alert, in the LNG Daily newsletter and on the Platts LNG Navigator.
