Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to start publishing weekly prices of FOB Bahrain PEN 60-70 grade bitumen, effective Dec. 11.
The assessment would complement Platts' existing FOB Singapore, FOB South Korea and CFR India bitumen assessments, providing more information on the waterborne trade for the product in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets.
The proposed FOB Bahrain assessment would be published as $/mt, and reflect 3,000-7,000-mt cargoes loading from Sitra 20-40 days forward.
The assessment would take into consideration price information gathered during the week ahead of the assessment, with indications normalized to the close at 4:30 pm Singapore time on Wednesday of each week.
The assessments would reflect the values of physical bitumen cargoes at the close at 4:30 pm Singapore time on Wednesdays and follow the Singapore publishing schedule. When a public holiday falls on the planned publishing day, the assessment will be published the day prior to the public holiday.
