Platts to update 10 Americas MOP price assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will update the specifications of 10 North American Granular Potassium Chloride (Muriate of Potash -- MOP) price assessments, effective Dec. 9, 2025.
The launch was initially proposed for Dec. 2 , but was rescheduled to Dec. 9 to allow for additional feedback from market participants.
The amendments will refine and evolve specifications to better reflect potash market activity dynamics in the Americas region.
The weekly potash price assessments will also be published as a single "close" value, along with low and high values published at a standardized minus $1/st, plus $1/st, below and above the assessed close value, respectively.
In addition, the Granular MOP FOT Saskatchewan (FGSBA04) price assessment will be assessed in Canadian dollars, reflecting the current market practice.
The specification changes for all the weekly assessments are detailed below:
