SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches Mexico City HDPE film assessment, lowers volumes

S&P Global Platts has launched a delivered Mexico City high-density polyethylene film spot assessment on a weekly basis effective November 1, 2017, to capture growing market liquidity.

The assessment reflects the prevailing market price at 1:30 pm US Central time each Wednesday.

Assessments are in US dollars/mt, and also published in Mexican pesos/mt based on the conversion rate at the Platts Market on Close.

Basis and location specifications are for domestic prices and are for HDPE film with a melt flow rate of 0.06 and higher delivered by rail car, and reflect a delivered Mexico City price. In the absence of rail car pricing indications, resin delivered via bag by truck also will be considered.

Assessments reflect volumes between 100-300 mt.

Mexico assessments are for material delivered three to 30 days out, with credit of 90 days.

Prices will appear in S&P Global Platts' Polymerscan Latin American Edition and under codes AABAM04 (US dollars/mt) and AABAN04 (Mexican pesos/mt).

In addition, Platts has updated the volume for all domestic Mexico polyethylene assessments -- HDPE blowmolding, HDPE injection, LLDPE butene and LLDPE -- to 100-300/mt.
