Following industry consultation, S&P Global Platts has decided to publish daily mixed xylene and toluene spreads to Eurobob gasoline swaps from November 22, 2017 to reflect the broad adoption of gasoline-related pricing in Europe.
The spreads will be assessed as a simple differential between MX or toluene prices for individual months and the corresponding Platts Eurobob gasoline swaps value for that day.
Platts has also decided to launch daily assessments of MX delivered on a CIF ARA basis within the current month (M1) and next month (M2), also effective November 22, 2017.
The assessments will be published on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages PC0328, PC0335, PC0378, PC0540, PC0324, PC0233 and PC0432, in Europe & Americas Petrochemicalscan, and in Platts Market Data category Aromatics Europe (AE) under the following symbols:

Specifications for the new MX CIF ARA assessments will be fully aligned with specifications for the existing MX CIF ARA assessment. It will conform to the latest edition of ASTM D-843, with one or more isomers removed; the non-aromatics content set at the maximum of 2% and the maximum ethylbenzene content at 20%. There will be no limits on metaxylene, paraxylene and orthoxylene content. Minimum cargo size will be set at 1,000 mt with larger parcels normalized to 1,000 mt.
