Platts proposes new 9.00 a.m. CT NYMEX ULSD, RBOB intraday assessments
Also proposing renaming existing London close NYMEX ULSD, RBOB assessments
Would continue to publish two sets of intraday assessments during Houston morning
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to launch new intraday assessments effective Dec. 1, reflecting the prevailing values of the front- and second-month NYMEX RBOB and NYMEX ULSD futures contracts at 9 am Central Time.
The proposed assessments would be published in accordance with the Houston publishing schedule and be databased under the respective codes and appear in Platts Global Alert and Platts Refined Products Alert page 302.
Platts already publishes two sets of intraday assessments from Houston for the front- and second month NYMEX RBOB and NYMEX ULSD futures contracts, the first set being published at 9:00 a.m. CT and the second at the close of the European market at 4:30 pm London time, which aligns with 10.30 am CT for most of the year.
The two sets of intraday assessments are currently published using the same symbols, which has led to some subscriber requests to add a second set of symbols so that the two sets of intraday assessments can be independently published.
This proposal would see new assessments published with new symbols for the first set of intraday assessments at 9.00 a.m. CT, while the existing symbols would continue to be used for the second set at the London close.
Coinciding with the launch of the new symbols, Platts is also proposing to rename the existing intraday NYMEX RBOB and ULSD assessments to make clear that they reflect the prevailing values of these futures contracts at the London close.
The affected symbols and proposed nomenclature, effective Dec. 1, are listed below:
Symbol | Current name | Proposed new name |
XUHU100 | Intraday NYMEX RBOB Mo01 | London close NYMEX RBOB Mo01 |
XUHU200 | Intraday NYMEX RBOB Mo02 | London close NYMEX RBOB Mo02 |
XUHO100 | Intraday NYMEX NY ULSD Mo01 | London close NYMEX NY ULSD Mo01 |
XUHO200 | Intraday NYMEX NY ULSD Mo02 | London close NYMEX NY ULSD Mo02 |
These assessments are databased under the respective codes and appear in European Marketscan, US Marketscan, as well as in Platts Global Alert and Platts Refined Products Alert pages 302 and 703, and in Platts Crude Oil Alert page 703.
