Platts adds Italian discharge ports to Atlantic LNG assessments Oct 16

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has added Adriatic and Ravenna as discharge ports for its DES East Mediterranean LNG assessment (EMM), and Piombino, Toscana and Panigaglia as discharge ports for its DES Mediterranean LNG assessment (MED), reflected in the Platts Market on Close assessment process, effective Oct. 16.

The additions reflect the changing trade practice around flexibility provided for cargoes delivered into the East and West Mediterranean regions, in line with market feedback and Platts analysis of market and trade data.

Platts informed the market of the additions Sept. 18, via a subscriber note here, following a proposal Aug. 23 via a subscriber note available here.

Following this change, Platts EMM reflects deliveries into basis discharge ports in Turkey, including Aliaga, Dortyol, Etki, Marmara, Ereglisi and Saros. Deliveries into ports in Croatia, Greece and eastern Italian ports of Adriatic and Ravenna may also be considered but may be normalized.

At the same time, Platts MED reflects deliveries into basis discharge ports in the Mediterranean, including Spain, Portugal and Southern France, while deliveries to western Italian ports, including Piombino, Toscana and Panigaglia, may also be considered but may be normalized.

Platts continues to reflect a minimum cargo size of 135,000 cu m and a base volume of 3.3 TBtu plus/minus 3% optol in both the DES Mediterranean and DES East Mediterranean LNG assessments.

The affected assessments appear in LNG Daily, Platts LNG Alert pages 1830, 1831, 1832 and 1833, and Platts Natural Gas Alert pages 1048, 1049, 1083 and 1084.
