SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts confirms amendment to CFR Japan naphtha specs for H1 Nov onwards

Following industry feedback, S&P Global Platts confirms it has reflected a maximum of 3 ppm carbon disulfide in its assessments for naphtha delivered to Japan for cargoes delivered from the first half of November onwards.

In a proposal note published on July 30, Platts proposed a start date of October 2, 2017, when H1 November cargoes will be reflected in the prompt assessment cycle.

Following feedback to this note, Platts is clarifying that all trades for cargoes delivered H1 November onwards should meet this updated specification, to ensure that cargoes reflected in Platts assessments are fully fungible with the broader marketplace, and meet Platts guidelines for merchantability.

The original decision note can be found here: https://www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/27868465

Platts assesses the value of naphtha for delivery on a C+F basis into Japan, reflecting three major half-month time cycles, and an additional single "cargo" value reflecting two of these cycles.
