Platts updates 2022 RVP Calendar shifting LA, SF CARBOB to fall RVP Oct. 3

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated its 2022 RVP Calendar to reflect changes to Los Angeles and San Francisco CARBOB RVP shift dates.

Los Angeles and San Francisco CARBOB gasoline assessments shift to 10.5 RVP and 12.5 RVP, respectively, on Oct. 3 based on guidance from Kinder Morgan SFPP and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

CARB issued a regulatory advisory Sept. 30 allowing an early transition to winter gasoline effective immediately, citing the high price of gasoline in the state due to a "recent refinery fire, West Coast refinery maintenance challenges, Hurricane Ian, and other geopolitical events."

Kinder Morgan said on Oct. 3 it would "allow the immediate transition to the November blend gasoline being supplied and distributed starting the 37th cycle through the 40th cycle of October" in adherance with the CARB advisory.

CARBOB was originally scheduled to shift to 12.5 RVP in San Francisco and 10.5 RVP in Los Angeles with the start of Cycle 41.
