Platts amends Brazilian ethanol assessments timestamp to 16:30 Sao Paulo

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the timestamp reflected in all its Brazilian ethanol assessments to 16:30 Sao Paulo time (19:30 GMT), effective Oct. 3, 2022.

Previously the assessments were timestamped at 13:30 Central Standard Time, which meant that they followed daylight savings changes in the US. As a result of this change, they will no longer move timestamp with daylight savings.

This time adjustment follows a subscriber note announcing the decision, published Aug. 1, 2022, and a proposal subscriber note published June. 9. Previously, the assessments reflected a timestamp of 13:30 Central Standard Time.

Moving the assessment timestamp to 16:30 Sao Paulo time will align these assessments to Platts Brazilian biodiesel and North-Northeast Brazil ethanol assessments. The change will also ensure the assessments consistently reflect market activity through the afternoon.
