Platts amends cargo size for Johan Castberg crude oil assessments to 800,000 barrels Oct. 1

In line with evolving trends in the Johan Castberg loading schedule, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the cargo size reflected in its Johan Castberg crude oil assessments to 800,000 barrels, effective Oct. 1.

Johan Castberg loading schedules for October and November revealed uniform cargo sizes of 800,000 barrels, establishing a new standard volume for the grade, based on recent loading programs seen by Platts and feedback from market participants.

Accordingly, Platts has amended the cargo sizes reflected in its Johan Castberg CIF Rotterdam assessments to 800,000 barrels, effective Oct. 1. Platts previously reflected 700,000-barrel Johan Castberg parcels as standard in its assessments.

Platts launched its assessments for Johan Castberg on a CIF Rotterdam basis on June 23, 2025. The assessment reflects cargoes for delivery into Rotterdam 12 days to one month ahead from assessment date pricing five days after bill of lading as standard.

The assessments are published under the following symbol codes:
