Platts reduces biodiesel, soybean oil export duty on biodiesel FOB Argentina assessment Sept. 23

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has reduced the Argentine export duty on soybean oil to 0% from 24.5% and biodiesel to 0% from 29%, in line with Argentine regulations, effective Sept. 23, 2025.

The Argentine government has made the 0% soybean oil and 0% biodiesel export duty until Oct. 31, 2025, inclusive, or until the end of the day when the total amount of sworn export sales declarations (DJVE) reaches 7 billion dollars, whichever comes first.

Platts methodology states that it will update export duty values in the formula upon any changes from the Argentine government, as tracked in the Boletin Oficial de la Republica Argentina. Platts will notify the market of any changes through subscriber notes.

This updated duty is reflected in the Platts daily calculated assessment for biodiesel exported from Argentina (AARGA00).

The affected assessment reflects FOB Up River bulk cargoes, typically around 30,000 mt, intended for the export market.

This assessment follows the Platts Argentina publishing schedule and a 17:30 Sao Paulo timestamp. It is available in the Platts price database, in the Biofuelscan report, and on Platts Biofuels Alert and Platts Connect.
