Platts to discontinue US PVC, PS and PET domestic contract price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue the weekly contract price assessments for US domestic polyvinylchloride, polyethylene terephthalate and polystyrene, effective December 2, in light of a lack of contract market transparency and consistency.

The last publication for the weekly contract price assessments will be November 27.

The assessments being discontinued are currently published in Polymerscan, Platts Connect and Platts Market Center, as well as in the Price Point database under the following symbols:
