Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to discontinue its weekly Brazil aluminum DDP Southeast all-in calculation, effective Dec. 8, 2022.
The proposal is part of a wider review of Platts Brazil aluminum assessments. In a separate consultation, Platts is proposing changes and additions to its existing DDP Southeast premium specifications to capture the growing importance of ICMS tax in Brazilian domestic P1020 transaction prices.
Details of that proposal are available here.
The following assessment would be affected by the proposed discontinuation:
Aluminum transaction price DDP Southeast Brazil (all-in); MMADB04
Associated monthly and yearly averages would also be discontinued. The all-in price is calculated as the sum of Platts assessed DDP Southeast Brazil premium (MMABS04) and the London Metal Exchange settlement for a corresponding strip.
The assessments are published in Platts Metals Daily, Platts Metals Week Supplement, and Platts Metals Alert on page PMA 17, and in the Platts database.
Platts invites feedback on this proposal to Platts_Aluminum@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com by Oct. 7, 2022.
