Platts to publish China domestic PVC prices January 5

Following feedback from industry participants, Platts will from January 5, 2011, publish new China domestic ethylene-based and carbide-based PVC assessments. Both assessments are basis Yuan/mt.

The assessment guidelines are as follows:

Ethylene-based PVC assessments:

Assessment window: Weekly assessment delivered (Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shangdong, Hebei, Tianjin, Guangdong, Fujian) based on information sourced from the market up to close of 4:30pm Singapore time on Wednesdays.

Timing: Weekly assessments delivered based on information sourced up to 4:30pm Singapore time (0830) on Wednesdays

Basis and locations: delivered east China (Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shangdong), north China (Hebei, Tianjin), south China (Guangdong, Fujian)

Cargo size: 100-500mt

Credit terms: China domestic is assessed at sight basis with cash payment

Loading timing: cargoes to be delivered up to 10 days forward from date of publication

Quality specifications: K-value 66-68

Carbide-based:

Assessment window: Weekly assessment delivered (Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shangdong, Hebei, Tianjin, Guangdong, Fujian) based on information sourced from the market up to close of 4:30pm Singapore time on Wednesdays.

Timing: Weekly assessments delivered based on information sourced up to 4:30pm Singapore time (0830) on Wednesdays
