S&P Global Platts proposes effective November 10, 2017, to launch a North-Northeast Brazil anhydrous ethanol assessment. The proposal is in line with increased interest in a transparent and clearly defined assessment in the region.
The NNE assessment would reflect anhydrous ethanol standard ANP quality in Suape, one-15 days forward from date of publication.
Platts proposes to calculate the assessment bases DAP (Delivered At Place) Suape, Pernambuco, other locations and Incoterms such as FOB/CIF may be considered but will be normalized back to the basis location. Platts would take into considerations product produced regionally, transfers from the Center-South region as well as volumes delivered from international locations.
The minimum volume would be 250,000 liters, or 250 cu m, and the maximum volume 1,000,000 liters, or 1,000 cu m. Other volumes may also be considered but in relation to the assessed volume range.
Platts would consider standard payment terms such as payment withing 10 days of "delivery."
The assessments would be timestamped to a 4:30 pm Sao Paulo time Friday and published in the Friday Biofuelscan and the Platts Weekly Global Ethanol Report. The data also will be available on the Platts Real Time Service.
Platts welcomes all feedback and questions on the proposed assessment through to September 29, 2017.
