Platts proposes to launch unsubsidised waste European biomethane GO assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch daily assessments for unsubsidized waste feedstock biomethane guarantees of origin (GOs) in Denmark and the Netherlands, effective Nov. 1.

Due to the growth in compliance markets in Europe which require the use of unsubsidized biomethane to fulfill, these new assessments would reflect the traded prices into this increasingly relevant segment of the market. Compliance markets refer to related biofuels tickets, domestic blending requirements, etc.

The proposed daily assessments would be for the current-year and year-ahead vintages for both the unsubsidized Netherlands and Denmark assessments, and utilize the current CI value definition range for waste certificates of 25.00 g to 0 g CO2e/MJ.

The unsubsidized Netherlands and Denmark waste assessments proposed would be published in Eur /MWh.

The proposed assessments would be published on a 4:30 pm London timestamp.
