Platts clarifies exclusion of additional energy surcharges from European polymer assessments

Following the announcement from producers of recent energy surcharges, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, wishes to clarify the exclusion of additional energy surcharges from polymer assessments.

Platts polyethylene and polypropylene assessments reflect freely-negotiated gross contract prices which do not include additional surcharges.

Platts prioritizes transparent and verifiable data that has been tested in the market and reflects the negotiated and mutually-agreed absolute price, not including any additional surcharges.
