Platts to discontinue FOB NWE AA, VAM price assessments

Following market consultation, S&P Global Platts will discontinue its FOB NWE acetic acid (AA) and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) spot price assessments, effective Nov. 19, 2020.

The decision to discontinue the assessments reflects a lack of liquidity in FOB spot deals. The decision follows a proposal on Aug. 25, 2020, in a subscriber note available here: https://rb.gy/cb4f3q

Platts will continue to publish its FD NWE AA and VAM spot price assessments.
