Subscriber note: Platts proposes to discontinue RON 80 gasoline Russian domestic assessment

Following industry feedback, Platts proposes to discontinue its assessment of Russian normal unleaded gasoline RON 80 basis Ufa and Moscow. Due to changing production patterns and demand, many Russian refineries have reduced output of the grade or have discontinued production entirely. This is in line with the ongoing modernization of Russian refineries and the drive to introduce more stringent environmental and specification requirements. Normal unleaded is still produced by some refineries, but as spot availability is becoming increasingly scarce, liquidity is not sufficient to support a relevant price reference. Therefore Platts proposes to discontinue the two assessments, basis Ufa in the Privolzhsky Federal District, and basis Moscow in the Central Federal District, as of March 22, 2014. Please send all initial feedback and comments by September 30, 2013, to oilgroup@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. Please provide a clear indication if comments are intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make these comments available on request.
