S&P Global Platts is extending the feedback period on its proposal that information around trading activity at berths in ports with specific restrictions and/or implied optionality may no longer form part of the CFR China Asia Benzene assessment process.
Platts is also updating the proposed launch date to November 1, 2019.
Platts first proposed this in a subscriber note dated August 20, 2019: http://plts.co/UX4r30ptIcy
Platts is proposing that terminals that cannot receive vessels larger than 5,000 deadweight tons may be deemed restrictive and excluded from the assessment process. The volume standard for assessment will remain 3,000 mt.
Platts clarifies that Jiangyin, Ningbo, Changzhou and Caojing remain basis ports for the CFR China marker.
