Platts launches 4 daily North Asia to Indian Subcontinent fronthaul, backhaul container freight assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched four new daily spot container freight assessments and four monthly average equivalents from Sept. 4, extending market coverage to key trading lanes of North Asia and Indian Subcontinent.

The new assessments cover the following routes, and are published under these codes:

The assessments reflect the transactable value at 17:30 Singapore time, for transporting 20-feet equivalent or TEU and 40-feet equivalent, or FEU containers on those routes, for loading five to 25 days forward from the date of publication.

The assessments are published in $/TEU and $/FEU, and follow the Platts Singapore publishing schedule.

Platts assesses key shipping regions under broad geographic descriptions.

The relevant descriptions for the routes are:

North Asia: Tokyo to Hong Kong

Indian Subcontinent: Karachi to Chittagong
