Platts increases frequency of NNE Brazil Ethanol Weekly Assessment to daily

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has increased the frequency of its NNE Brazil Ethanol Weekly Assessment to daily, effective Sept. 4.

This change follows Platts' observation of consistent liquidity in the North-Northeast Brazil ethanol market and will allow for increased clarity of inter-week price movements in the anhydrous ethanol market.

A decision note announcing the increased frequency was published on Aug. 22, available hereunder:

Changes to assessments:

Current weekly assessment - AAXFW04 - NNE Brazil delivered Suape anhydrous weekly - converted to a weekly average of the daily assessment

New daily assessment - AAXFW00 - Anhydrous Ethanol NNE Brazil DAP Suape daily

The assessment specifications will remain unchanged:

Quality: Standard ANP anhydrous quality ethanol Timing: 1-15 days forward from date of publication

Volume: Minimum volume 250,000 liters, or 250 cu m, and maximum volume 1 million liters, or 1,000 cu m.

Location: DAP (Delivered At Place) basis Suape, Pernambuco. Other locations and Incoterms such as FOB/CIF may be normalized back to the basis location.

Platts also takes into consideration product produced regionally, transfers from the Center-South region as well as volumes delivered from international locations.

Payment: Platts assessments reflect payment within 10 days of delivery.

Unit: Real/cu m

The daily assessment will appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) Pages 220 and 223, in the Biofuelscan, the weekly Fuel Ethanol Report, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.

The weekly average price of the daily assessment will appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) Page 221.

The monthly average price of the daily assessment will appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) Page 222.
