SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches new FOB Singapore 95 RON gasoline assessments

In response to market demand, S&P Global Platts has started publishing a FOB Singapore 95 RON gasoline cash differential and associated derivatives assessments on September 2, 2019.

Platts first announced the new assessments in a proposal note published on March 25, 2019. (http://plts.co/Yi7730poI8U)

The cash differential will follow the same methodology applied to the current Mean of Platts FOB Singapore 92 RON cash differential assessment.

Platts has been publishing outright assessments for 95 RON gasoline on FOB Singapore basis since June 2, 1993. In addition, Platts has been publishing the FOB Singapore 95 RON spread against the Singapore naphtha MOPS strip since Jan. 3, 2005.

Alongside the physical assessments, Platts is also publishing new assessment values comprising three monthly derivatives assessments. These include a balance month derivative contract, a month 1 derivatives contract and month 2 derivatives contract, with rollovers similar to the 92 RON derivatives market. These new derivatives settle on the average of Platts FOB Singapore 95 RON outright gasoline assessments.

Platts will publish a MOPS "strip" value. The strip will reflect the average of daily swap values over a 16-day period, 15-30 days forward from the date of publication.

The strip value published by Platts in certain oil markets represents the value the market assigns to future Platts assessments, through trading in physical or derivatives instruments on strip-related prices. This value is determined by analyzing the derivatives market.

Details of the new assessments are as follows:

Code Assessment AGUMB00 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS BalMo AGUMM01 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Mo01 AGUMM02 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Mo02 AGUMA00 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Premium/Discount AGUMA03 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Premium/Discount MAvg AGUMS00 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Strip AGUMS03 Gasoline Unl 95 MOPS Strip MAvg

These assessments will appear in Platts Asia-Pacific/Arab Gulf Marketscan and Platts Global Alert pages 2304, 2305, 2310, 2311, 2318, 2655 and 2654.
