SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches daily Crude Palm Oil, RBDP Stearin, PFAD assessments Sep 2

S&P Global Platts has launched on September 2, 2019, daily Crude Palm Oil FOB Indonesia and CFR West Coast India assessments, as well as daily Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) FOB Indonesia and Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Stearin (RBDP Stearin) FOB Indonesia assessments, to bring greater transparency to this growing market.

Global Crude Palm Oil production in 2018 stood at around 73.3 million mt, a 7% increase year on year, with Indonesia accounting for nearly 56%. Crude palm oil derivative PFAD is used, for example, to produce animal feed, soap and biodiesel, while RBD Palm Stearin is used to manufacture products such as margarine, candles and soap.
