SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to discontinue weekly FOB China Ferromanganese assessment

Following a period of industry feedback, Platts will discontinue publication of the weekly FOB China High Carbon 75% Ferromanganese Price assessment (MMAIR00).

The final value for this price will be published on October 29, 2015.

As Platts has reported, spot export activity for ferromanganese has fallen significantly due to an export duty of 20% in recent years, and market research shows that this price is no longer representative of significant market activity.

Market participants have provided feedback that the China prices are no longer representative and do not serve a purpose as an industry reference.
