Following a Worldscale Association update to Gibraltar, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has amended the Worldscale flat rate basket used in $/mt calculations for the Black Sea to the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean to the Mediterranean 30,000 mt dirty tanker assessments, effective Sept. 1, 2022.
With this amendment, the new average flat rate for the Black Sea-Mediterranean and Mediterranean-Mediterranean voyages will be $11.13/mt and $6.98/mt, respectively.

The affected assessments are:

Clean tanker rates have not been affected.
The affected assessments appear in Platts Dirty Tankerwire; on Platts Shipping Alert pages 1420, 1421 and Platts Tanker Alert pages 1950, 1951; as well as in the Platts price database under the codes above.
