Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will increase the frequency of its NNE Brazil Ethanol Weekly Assessment to daily, effective Sept. 4.
This decision followed Platts observation of consistent liquidity in the North-Northeast Brazil ethanol market and will allow for increased clarity of inter-week price movements in the anhydrous ethanol market.
Planned changes to assessments:
Current weekly assessment - AAXFW04 - NNE Brazil delivered Suape anhydrous weekly - will be converted to a weekly average of the daily assessment
New daily assessment - AAXFW00 - Anhydrous Ethanol NNE Brazil DAP Suape daily
The assessment specifications will remain unchanged:
Quality: Standard ANP anhydrous quality ethanol Timing: 1-15 days forward from date of publication
Volume: Minimum volume 250,000 liters, or 250 cu m, and maximum volume 1 million liters, or 1,000 cu m.
Location: DAP (Delivered At Place) basis Suape, Pernambuco. Other locations and Incoterms such as FOB/CIF may be normalized back to the basis location.
Platts also takes into consideration product produced regionally, transfers from the Center-South region as well as volumes delivered from international locations.
Payment: Platts assessments reflect payment within 10 days of delivery.
Unit: Real/cu m
The assessments will appear on Platts Biofuels Alert (PBF) Pages 221 and 222, in the Biofuelscan, the weekly Fuel Ethanol Report, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
