Platts proposes to discontinue US PVC, PS and PET domestic contract price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to discontinue the weekly contract price assessments for US domestic PVC, polyethylene terephthalate and polystyrene, effective Dec. 2, in light of a lack of contract market transparency and consistency.

The assessments, proposed for discontinuation, are currently published in Polymerscan, Platts Connect and Platts Market Center, as well as in the Price Point database under the following symbols:
