Following a review of recognized additives reflected in its FOB Singapore gasoil assessments, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will add four new additives from Baker Hughes and one new additive from Krishna Antioxidants, with effect from Sept. 15, 2022.
The Baker Hughes additives are:
Additive Name Additive Type
TOLAD3922A Anti-oxidant
TOLAD3910 Anti-oxidant
TOLAD9037 Anti-oxidant
TOLAD4600 Metal deactivator
Platts first proposed the inclusion of these Baker Hughes additives in a subscriber note published Jan. 25, 2021 ( https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/012521-platts-proposes-including-baker-hughes-additives-in-singapore-gasoil).
Platts will also add Cristol LI 2200 lubricity improver by Krishna Antioxidants. Platts first proposed the inclusion of the additive in a subscriber note published Aug. 28, 2018 (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/082918-platts-proposes-including-several-new-additives-in-singapore-gasoil), and said in a subscriber note published March 8, 2019 that the additive would continue to be reviewed for further consultation and information (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/030819-platts-to-include-several-new-additives-in-singapore-gasoil). The additive was again proposed for inclusion in a subscriber note published Dec. 7, 2020 (https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/120720-platts-proposes-including-cristol-additive-in-singapore-gasoil).
Platts understands that all of these additives have broad market acceptance and/or have been consumed in the region and are reflected in the key regional national chemical inventory.
Platts has completed the review for WD-006 lubricity improver and WD-008 lubricity improver by Xi'an Wonder Energy Chemical, and will not be including the additives in the recognized additives reflected in its Platts FOB Singapore gasoil assessments. Platts first proposed the inclusion of the additives in a subscriber note published July 8, 2020 (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/070820-platts-proposes-including-innospec-and-wonder-energy-additives-in-singapore-gasoil), and said in a subscriber note published Jan. 25, 2021 that the additives would continue to be reviewed for further consultation and information (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/012521-platts-to-include-innospec-oli-9980-additive-in-singapore-gasoil).
