Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to change the CFR India phenol and acetone assessment to reflect cargoes delivered 30-45 days forward from the day of the assessment, effective Sept. 26, 2024, in line with market feedback received.
Platts understands that CFR India phenol and acetone market usually specifies shipment/loading period of the cargoes during trade related discussions.
Platts has observed that the bulk of the phenol imported into India come from Thailand, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and China, with voyage times ranging from 20 to 30 days from the date of shipment. The majority of acetone imported into India is from Thailand, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and China, with voyage times ranging from 20 to 30 days from the date of shipment. The proposed change is aimed at capturing the bulk of this spot trading activity.
The affected assessments are published in the Solventswire and on Platts Petrochemical Alert Pages: PC0241, PC0242, PC0243, PC0380, PC0446, PC0447 and PC0450.
