S&P Global Platts has discontinued the publication of the toluene CFR China LC 0-30 days assessments from August 14, 2020.
Platts has observed a significant decline in the use of 0-30 days letter of credit in the CFR China toluene market in recent years, with the bulk of market participants in China preferring to trade on a 90-day L/C basis. A 90-day L/C credit term gives importers in China a longer time period to make the final payment, and provides more flexibility for back-to-back trades.
Platts first proposed the discontinuation of the CFR China LC 0-30 days toluene assessments in a subscriber note published on April 17, 2020. (https://bit.ly/3f6QHtz).
