Platts discontinues weekly CFR US Gulf ammonia assessments; refines daily CFR US Gulf/Tampa ammonia assessment specifications Aug. 4

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued its weekly CFR US Gulf/Tampa and CFR US Gulf (Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas) ammonia assessments and adjusted the specifications of its daily CFR US Gulf/Tampa ammonia assessment, effective Aug. 4, 2025.

Given the lack of transparency on contract pricing in the region and the absence of reported fixed price spot CFR trade in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, Platts has discontinued the weekly CFR US Gulf (Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas) (FAUGB04) and CFR US Gulf/Tampa (FAUGA04) ammonia assessments.

In addition to these discontinuations, Platts has also narrowed the location specification of the daily CFR US Gulf/Tampa (FAUGA00) assessment, defining Tampa as a basis location, and changed the quantity specification of the assessment from 10,000-25,000 mt to 25,000 mt.

The daily CFR US Gulf/Tampa (FAUGA00) ammonia assessment formerly covered spot trade in all ammonia-importing ports/ terminals in the US Gulf states of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
