Platts to increase assessment volume for Met Coke 64/62% CSR CFR East India

Following a period of market feedback, S&P Global Platts will increase assessment volume for Met Coke 64/62% CSR CFR East India (MCCEI00) to minimum 10,000 mt, aligning with other met coke CFR India assessments, effective August 7, 2020.

The assessment currently reflects spot parcels of minimum 5,000 mt. Platts has observed that the spot met coke average cargo size for all CSR types is between 25,000 mt and 35,000 mt, and the change would accommodate data on cargoes shipped in a single hatch on Handysize vessels.

Platts proposed the changes in a subscriber note published June 30, 2020, (https://bit.ly/2OmfKwT).

The affected price is published in SBB Steel Markets Daily, Coal Trader International, on the real-time Platts Metals Alert on fixed pages 205, 1052, and in the Platts price database under the symbol mentioned above. The proposed change would also affect the associated codes for averages.
