Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch four new daily spot container freight assessments and four monthly average equivalents from Sept. 1, extending market coverage to key trading lanes of North Asia and Indian Subcontinent.

The new assessments would cover the following routes, and would be published under these codes:

The proposed assessments would reflect the transactable value at 5:30 pm Singapore time, for transporting 20-feet equivalent or TEU and 40-feet equivalent, or FEU containers on those routes, for loading five to 25 days forward from the date of publication.

The assessments would be published in $/TEU and $/FEU, and would follow the Singapore publishing schedule.

Platts assesses key shipping regions under broad geographic descriptions.

The relevant descriptions for the routes are:

North Asia: Tokyo to Hong Kong

Indian Subcontinent: Karachi to Chittagong

These assessments will be published in Platts Dry Freight Wire; on Platts Shipping Alert pages SHP0510, SHP0514, SHP0511, PGT4000, PGT4006, PGT4001, and in the Platts pricing database under the symbol codes above.
