Platts is proposing to adjust the timings for the Asian MTBE assessment processes as it launches the eWindow communication tool on September 4, 2015. In line with the efficiencies the eWindow tool offers, Platts proposes to dispense with the current 16:28 Singapore time freeze, allowing bids and offers to be changed in line with Platts incrementability standards right up until 16:30, the closing time for the MTBE MOC process in Asia. Participants will be able to improve bids and offers at a maximum of $1/mt in a minimum of 30 seconds. A 1 minute extension period will be triggered by any price move or a re-bid/re-offer in the last 20 seconds prior to the close of the MOC at 16:30, replacing the current 3 minute extension. Even after the launch of the eWindow communication tool, participants may still submit bids or offers through instant messenger but such manual indications would still be governed by the timing standards which currently operate for the manual MOC window.
