Platts proposes to launch hydrogen pump prices for California, publish hydrogen pump prices for Europe, Japan

S&P Global Platts proposes to launch new monthly assessments for hydrogen pump prices in the California market, based on a survey of hydrogen fuel station operators, commencing Sept. 2, 2021.

The monthly price survey would consider representative high and low pump prices heard in the market from hydrogen fuel station operators across the state.

Alongside these assessments, Platts also proposes to republish posted high and low pump prices for Germany and Japan hydrogen fuel stations. For Germany, these will be sourced from H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, a consortium of hydrogen retail station operators, and for Japan from gas company Iwatani.

High and low prices will be converted from their respective currencies into both US Dollars and Euros using Platts FX currency conversion assessments.

The data will be published on the Platts Dimensions Pro and under the Market Data Category, HYP.

The following symbols will be created:

- Japan Tohoku area - Japan Metropolitan area - Japan Chubu area - Japan Kinki area - Japan Chugoku and Kyushu area

- Germany

- California

All Japanese prices will be published in Japanese Yen, US Dollars and Euros. All European prices will be published in Euros and US Dollars. All US prices will be published in US Dollars and Euros.
