Following industry consultation, S&P Global Platts will discontinue its daily US CAPP barge OTC coal price and its related assessments after December 22, 2017, to better align its assessments with the physical market.
While CAPP barge (12,000 Btu/lb) coal continues to exist, it is no longer a relevant product in the over-the-counter market. Platts will continue to assess CAPP barge coal on a weekly basis, which publishes Fridays.
The discontinued daily price will last publish December 22, 2017, and affect the following symbols published in Coal Trader as well as Global Coal Alert page 200 (Market Data category CO):
Platts Daily Physical OTC Assessments: CTNM001, CTNQ001. Platts Daily Physical Coal Assessments: CTIBM001, CTIM001, CTNAN03, CTIBQ01, CTIQ001, CTNAN05. Platts Final Monthly Averages: CTNOM01
