S&P Global Platts has discontinued the Latin America-US West Coast Panamax assessment for dirty tankers, effective July 3, 2017.
Platts proposed to discontinue this assessment November 30, 2016. https://www.platts.com/subscribernotesdetails/21208147
Platts discontinued the assessment because of changes in the underlying market that have led to a significant drop in liquidity on the assessed route. Data from cFlow, Platts trade flow software, shows only 14 Panamax vessels traveled the above routes during the period from September 1, 2014 to November 5, 2016.
The assessment is no longer published in the Dirty Tankerwire, on Platts Global Alert fixed page 1962 or in the price database under the code PFBAH00. Related symbols for the equivalent $/mt value of the assessment (TDADI00), the cargo size (PFBAHSZ), as well as monthly averages on a Worldscale and $/mt basis (PFBAH03 and TDADI00) also have been discontinued.
Please send any further comments or questions to tankers@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
