Platts to discontinue several West of Suez VLCC, Suezmax and Panamax freight assessments

S&P Global Platts will discontinue a number of West of Suez dirty tanker assessments effective September 1, 2020

This decision includes the Worldscale, the $/mt, and the cargo size codes. Platts has decided to delay the discontinuation of these assessments from the original proposed date of July 1, 2020, to September 1, 2020, following industry consultation.

Changing crude and fuel oil trading patterns in the Atlantic Basin and Mediterranean have changed the volume of cargoes moving along specific routes. Platts has identified five VLCC routes, five Suezmax routes, and one Panamax route to discontinue. The following assessments will be discontinued:
