Platts to launch daily post-consumer mixed HDPE bales assessment for Northwest Europe

S&P Global Platts will launch a daily post-consumer mixed HDPE bales assessment for Northwest Europe, in light of increasing consumer demand for recycled plastic. The assessment will launch on July 1, 2020.

The assessment will have the following specifications:

Basis: Free delivered Northwest Europe (Eur/mt) Northwest Europe includes Germany, Benelux region and Switzerland. Indications from other regions may be taken into consideration for the assessment and normalized.

Standard spot cargo size: Minimum 18 mt lots

Specification: Post-consumer mixed HDPE bales containing a minimum of 80% mixed colored HDPE by weight. Typical impurities, such as LDPE and PP, should not amount to more than 20% by weight.
