S&P Global Platts will launch a new daily recycled low density polyethylene (R-LDPE) film pellet FOB Southeast Asia assessment on June 23, 2021, to meet growing demand for pricing information in the recycled plastic markets.
The new assessment will reflect natural pellets used for consumer packing applications, and will be published in $/mt. The assessment will also reflect cargo sizes of minimum 15 mt for loading 15-30 days forward from the date of publication, from Port Klang in Malaysia, Bangkok in Thailand, Jakarta in Indonesia, Singapore, Batangas in the Philippines and Cat Lai in Vietnam.
Price information on loadings from other ports within Southeast Asia may be taken into consideration and normalized to the basis ports for the assessment.
The assessment will reflect standard market payment terms. Typical market payment terms are on a telegraphic transfer basis, with a 30% deposit and the rest of the payment on arrival.
The assessment also reflects the typical melt flow index of 0.2-2.2 when measured at 190 degrees Celsius with a 2.16 kg sample, and a mesh size of minimum 80.
Platts may also take into consideration recycled polyethylene (PE) of other specifications and may normalize price information to the standard specifications reflected for the assessment.
Platts will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the Platts Market on Close assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). The assessment will follow the Singapore publishing schedule.
These assessments will appear on Asian Petrochemicalscan, Polymerscan, Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 409, 441, 574 and the Petrochemicals Service on Platts Market Center, under the following price database symbols:
