SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts launches new DES West India LNG assessment June 16

Effective June 16, S&P Global Platts is launching new LNG price assessments for DES West India.

New daily assessments for a total of five half-months for DES West India will be listed. Four of the half months will match the delivery periods of Platts JKM assessments, with the fifth half month introduced immediately preceding the first half month.

Platts previously published a single front-month DES West India assessment matching the JKM marker front-month delivery period, with the DES West India (AARXS00) rolling to a new month on the 16th of the month.

The current monthly assessment for DES West India (AARXS00) will now be based on the average of the two half months that match the full month of assessment corresponding to JKM. For example, from February 16-28, the JKM half months assessed are H2 March, H1 April, H2 April and H1 May. Under the new DES West India structure, the DES West India half months assessed will be H1 March, H2 March, H1 April, H2 April and H1 May. The monthly assessment for DES West India (AARXS00) will be for April.

The new daily assessments will allow increased transparency for customers who use Platts LNG products in the West India market.
