Platts clarifies the timing of its North American Feedgas Cost Model

S&P Global Platts is clarifying the reference dates of its North American Feedgas Cost Model.

This is to make it clear that the prices generated on a given day use the Platts natural gas index values from the previous business day, while the proportional weighting given to different pricing locations is based on gas flow data from the same business day.

For example, the feedgas cost model published on Monday, June 1, 2020 reflect the natural gas values from Friday, May 29, 2020 and the updated gas flow data from June 1.

Platts will be updating the datestamp of tables referencing the model to reflect the assessment day of the natural gas price inputs. Consequently, the feedgas model published in LNG Daily or elsewhere online on June 1 for example, will reflect a datestamp of May 29.
