Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched daily price assessments for chicken in Asia, Brazil, US and the Middle East , effective June 3.
Platts chicken price assessments from Brazil and the United States bring price transparency to two of the largest export markets globally, while Asia and the Middle East are top importing regions. The new assessments bring increased transparency to the global chicken market, complementing Platts existing price assessments for the beef market, as well as coverage of animal feed, including corn, DDGS and soybean meal.
The US assessment - US Chicken Marker - reflects the value of minimum 200 grams , bone-in , skin-on chicken leg quarters loaded in 40-foot refrigerated containers of 25-27 mt net weight . The assessment reflects the value of a minimum of five full containers. Typical payment terms are cash against documents.
Platts assesses prices for product loading 15-45 days forward from the date of assessment.
USCM is published in US dollars/mt as an outright price under the symbol ATALI00 and the monthly average is published under the symbol ATALI03.
The Brazil assessment – Chicken Leg FCA Brazil - reflects the value of minimum 200 grams, frozen , boneless , skin-on chicken leg loaded in 40 -foot refrigerated containers of 24 -27 mt net weight on a FCA Paranagua basis , including Terminal Handling Charge (THC). The assessment reflects the value of a minimum of five full containers. Halal certification is not included.
Platts assesses prices for product loading in the third half-month laycan from the date of publication. Platts does not assess the prompt first and second half-month laycan. The half-month laycan is rolled forward on the 1st and 16th day of each calendar month. Payment terms are cash against documents.
The Chicken Leg FCA Brazil assessment is published in US dollars/mt as an outright price under the symbol ATALJ00. A monthly average will be published against the symbol ATALJ03.
The Chicken Leg CFR North Asia price assessment reflects the value of minimum 200 grams, frozen, boneless , skin-on chicken legs loaded in 40 - foot refrigerated containers of 24-27 mt net weight, basis Tokyo port. Cargoes to other ports in Japan, South Korea and China are also considered, normalized to the basis port. Halal certification is not required. The assessment reflects the value of a minimum of 10 full containers.

The Chicken Leg CFR North Asia assessment is published in US dollars/mt as an outright price under the symbol ATALK00. A monthly average will be published against the symbol ATALK03.
Platts assessment for Chicken Breast CIF Middle East reflects the value of frozen, boneless, skinless, single fillet chicken breast with halal certification, loaded as 12.5-kg cartons in minimum one 40-foot refrigerated container of 25-27 mt net weight. The assessment reflects product delivered to the Middle East, basis Jebel Ali Port, UAE.

Chicken Breast CIF Middle East assessment is published in US dollars/mt as an outright price under the symbol ATALL00. A monthly average will be published against the symbol ATALL03.
