Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a daily price assessment for beef, FCA Australia, and additional US beef import price assessments, effective June 3.
The new price assessments include a major beef exporting nation, Australia, and two additional price assessments for US beef imports, adding to Platts' existing coverage of the global beef market, which launched on March 18. ( See link)
The Australia assessment – 90CL Beef FCA Australia – reflects the value of manufacturing beef, basis min 90% chemical lean (90CL) deboned, boxed and frozen, on an FCA Brisbane basis with Terminal Handling Charge (THC).
The daily assessment reflects the value of product stuffed in one 40-foot refrigerated container of 25-27 mt net weight.
Platts assesses prices reflecting product to be shipped 30-60 days from date of publication. Payment terms are cash against documents.

The assessments are based on bids, offers, trades and market activity reported to Platts before 16:30 Singapore time and reflect prevailing market value at the time of close.
The two additional US assessments – 85CL and 95CL Beef CIF US – reflect the value of manufacturing beef, basis min 85% and 95% chemical lean, respectively, deboned, boxed and frozen, on a CIF Philadelphia, US basis, THC excluded.
