Platts to amend the basket for the Panamax UKC-USGC 55kt dirty tanker freight assessment July 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will amend the flat rate basket for the 55,000 mt UK/Continent to US Gulf Coast Panamax freight assessment starting July 1, 2024, to better reflect spot market activity and indications.

Platts understands that trans-Atlantic trading activity for dirty cargo flows to the USGC via the ports of Klaipeda, Ventspils and Tallinn has weakened, while relatively stronger trading activity has been observed via the terminals of the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region.

Therefore, the new basket will represent the average of three port-to-port combinations: Amsterdam-Houston, Rotterdam-Houston, Antwerp-Houston.
