SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to discontinue FOB Large Cargo Propane, Butane assessments

Following an extensive review with market participants, Platts proposes to discontinue its FOB Large Cargo Propane and Butane assessments, and associated freight rates, in Northwest Europe. These assessments would no longer be published from December 1, 2016.

The proposal to discontinue these assessments follows a lack of observable spot liquidity in these markets as market participants typically focus on CIF supplies. Under the proposal, associated freight routes from Norway to the Netherlands for both butane and propane would also be discontinued as they no longer reflect current spot freight routes.
